What advice would you have for getting into web design for a student or beginner? Get involved in the industry and immerse yourself in the lively community. A quick Google search reveals lists of the best and most relevant web design blogs, there are far too many for me to list. Search for influential web designers, view their portfolios, follow them on twitter and learn from them. Teach yourself how to code HTML/CSS by taking apart other people's websites, but don't steal their code. Research books like Bullet Proof Web Design and CSS Mastery. There really is a ton of information out there and tons of articles that can help you with this subject much better than I can, Google is your friend!
